Kreayshawn’s “Gucci Gucci” Ghostwriter Says He Hasn’t Received Royalties

Speak, a rapper-turned-ghostwriter from Moreno Valley, California, who co-wrote Kreayshawn’s hit single “Gucci Gucci,” among others, says he still hasn’t seen any royalties for his work.

“That’s the weird thing,” he tells the L.A. Weekly about the track that got Kreay an alleged $1 million dollar deal with Columbia Records, “seeing someone become rich overnight and getting to do all the cool things that come with being a successful artist, knowing you had a part in that, but eating Spam for dinner.”

25-year-old Speak, born Anthony Negrete, has collaborated with the Oakland rapper on a number of other tracks, including “Rich Whores,” her only other release. Speak also says he taught Kreay how to count bars and “con-ceptualize and structure lines and put a filter on all the craziness.”

Hopefully, Speak will see his luck change with the release of his own album, Inside Out Boy, on November 14. The set is mixed and engineered by Odd Future’s Syd tha Kid and features production from Odd Future’s production duo the Super 3.—Gina Montana

Scarface Is STILL Locked Up........ Still? Yep Still!!

Legendary Houston rapper Scarface is still in police custody for failure to pay child support.
As XXLMag.com previously reported, ’Face was originally locked up in Montgomery County Jail in Texas back in October 2010 for four separate cases of not paying child support.
The former Geto Boys leader has since been moved to Harris County Jail as of last week where he is being held for two active child support warrants totaling $123,372. He also faces two other child support charges as well as charges from the federal government.
According to police documents obtained by XXLmag.com, bonds have been set on all four cases—one for $93,376, a second one for $50,000, another for $30,000 and the last one was set at $500.
As of press time it is unclear how much longer Facemob is expected to spend behind bars, but a media relations rep for Harris County’s 7th precinct told XXL that he will be held until these women accusing him of not paying child support are compensated to some capacity.

@LilKim Talks Mixtape Numbers & Nicki Minaj

Much has been made of the controversial sales figures for Lil Kim's 'Black Friday' mixtape.

Kim announced via twitter that the tape moved 113,000 copies in the 1st 28 hours.

Since then, some critics and even Kim's number 1 nemesis, Nicki Minaj have scoffed at the numbers.

Laughing at Kim doesn't stop the fact that the wolves are circling Nicki right now.  Her first time manager, Fendi teamed with Lil Kim on the "Black Friday" video

In an interview with  Rap-Up yesterday (February 17), Kimmy Blanco attempted to clear the air regarding the sales numbers and Nicki.

RU: What do you say to those who question the authenticity of those figures?

Kim: At the end of the day, you’re always going to have your haters. We need the haters. There was actually a representative at PayPal who basically didn’t really confirm or deny it, but also [said] that they’re very happy and proud of the success of Lil’ Kim. I think numbers in other areas speak for themselves. I mean, why aren’t they questioning the Black Friday [video] being at 2.5 [million views] in less than 18 hours? Why aren’t they questioning that? What’s the difference? How can you add up one thing and not the other? I just feel like people pick and choose the area that they want to attack [laughs].

RU: Do you know the current sales numbers?

Kim: No, I actually don’t know right now. I have a team that kinda checks up on all that. We’ll keep you posted.

RU: Nicki Minaj laughed off your sales claims. Did you see that?

Kim: I heard about it. I didn’t see it actually for myself, but to be honest with you, homegirl is basically obsolete to me right now. She’s doing a lot of lame stuff. She’s so lame to me right now—she’s always been, but now really. At the end of the day, her sales can be questioned also. Not to say she didn’t have the build-up, but the only thing you kept hearing before her album dropped was nobody liked it, it was wack. Don’t get me wrong, she might have a couple songs that are OK, but who cares. The haters will be haters, that’s their job, and we need them.

After Nearly A Decade On The Underground Dallas Legend Big Chief Signs To Cash Money

While many hip-hop fans may be more familiar with the Dallas boogie movement that pumps out club tracks, Dallas, Texas rapper Big Chief has been making music and pushing his Eat Greedy brand to the streets of his city for years.

From hits like “My Swag” featuring Jim Jones, to “Check” featuring Bobby Valentino and Slim Thug, to the recently penned “Triple D Anthem” ft Dorrough and Bay Bay, Chief is one of Dallas most well respected and known artists.

But now Chief is making some more noise by signing to Cash Money Records, receiving the blessing of Baby himself over Dallas' K104 Radio.

Big Chief described the spontaneous signing to AllHipHop.com as a series of events where Baby asked the DJ,  Hollywood Bay Bay, "Who the hottest artist in the city?"

Bay Bay suggested Big Chief, and after hearing his most recent record entitled “Triple D Anthem”, Baby made it official.

“I mean actually, he [Baby] was doing an interview at K104 with Bay Bay and he asked who was the hottest kid out here, he said he wanted to change someone's life” Big Chief told AllHipHop.com.

“He said play some Big Chief, Bay Bay played my new joint, and when he did that he stopped the music and said tell lil’ homie to get at me.”

While details of the deal are still being finalized, Chief is adamant that this will take his career to the next level.

“They been having such a crazy schedule, with the Grammy’s and All-Star, but Baby’s manager said, ‘it’s official, go ahead and run with it,’ ” Chief explained.  “Live air on K104.5 He cosigned Big Chief in front of millions of people.”

Big Chief's Eat Greedy Volume 12 Mixtape series is expected to be released in March and his “Triple D Anthem” is getting airplay in several markets across the South.

“Triple D anthem is burning up the airwaves and the anthem will probably go down as one of the most legendary songs in Dallas,” an excited, but cool Big Chief said.

Famed Houston director Dr. Teeth will shoot the visuals for the song in the coming weeks.

“The main objective is to put on for my whole city. Not taking away from those that came before me, but this is a whole new level," concluded Big Chief.

Murder Was The Case: Tru Life Accepts Plea Deal

Its going to be a long regret filled 10 years for Robert Rosado or as you know him Tru Life.

Him and his brother have accepted a plea deal in the murder of a 20 year old man during the summer of 2009. The drama occured outside of Pacha in NYC and may have even been gang related when you look at the charges - gang assault, second degree murder and regular old fashioned assault. Tru Life seemed set for super stardom when he became the first artist signed to Jay-Z's Roc La Familia outfit. But trouble seems to follow some people and it finally has caught up with Mr. Robert Rosado who had he not accepted the plea deal would have gone to trial March 7th.

DEA Raids Rapper Dorrough's Texas Home

"

Rapper Dorrough's House Raided By DEA

Authorities raided Texas rapper Dorrough's Dallas home, early Tuesday according to reports.

According to media outlets, several DEA agents kicked in the rapper's door on suspicion of drug trafficking and searched the dwelling looking for evidence. A statement has yet to be released from authorities but according to the rapper's rep,
"All they found were gold & platinum plaques on the walls.”

By afternoon Dorrough had this statement posted on his Twitter account, presumably concerning the morning incident:

"My day started off f***d up... Which means today will be a great day!"

The rapper who is best known for his 2009 single, “Ice Cream Paint Job” then had a explanation of the situation posted on Ozonemag.com claiming the raid was unwarranted.

"Although the home of the Dallas, TX native is lavish and complimented with vehicles to match, the DEA found no evidence and could not make an arrest after an elaborate investigation which may have been stereotype driven," the statement reads.

Dorrough just released a new mixtape with DJ Drama, entitled Gangsta Grillz: Code Red, on February 3.

Tone Tone Speaks On Label Situation & Collaborations

Smh Of The Day: Scarcface Been Locked Up Since October 2010[Guess Why]

Rapper Scarface has been incarcerated for not paying child support and has been behind bars since October of 2010.

The rapper has been held in the Montgomery County Jail since, confirms a source close to the rapper.

The rapper has several outstanding child support cases and has had to appear before several courts since his initial incarceration.

"He's gotten transferred to a few jails last year and some of the cases are in different states," the source said. "This whole situation could've been avoided."

Additionally, Scarface has not been assisted in his plight from anybody close to him, even though aid has been requested.

Other details to the case have yet to be revealed, but Scarface reportedly has a tremendous financial commitment before him. Being jailed further compounds the situation since he is unable to generate income to even start paying the support, the source said.

More details on this case will be revealed as they emerge.
